I think its a great album and i would go as far to say it is a return to form, unlike other albums cited as that.
The songs sound full of energy and youthful, and it reminds me a lot of the NPG era of 1994/5.
It seems a lot of thought and effort was put into these songs, and although many have initial similarities to songs he's released, i think thats a good thing, its not as if he's copying someone else.
Its great he's more accessible now, i always hoped he would come back to the main, as i really didnt like the weirdness and unaccessibility of the TRC era.

I would agree, best since Emancipation, or possibly the album prior to Emancipation. Possibly.
But it's much better than NewpowerTribe and Rave un2 the Crap Smelltastic.

Disregarding TRC...i'd agree.

I personally think the rainbow children is a stronger album than musicology though.

Musicology is a good effort, but hardly worth the amount of oohs and ahhs it is receiving by the press.

I cant understand why so many people were into TRC.....it was an awful rant, that voiceover killed it, and the same people r reluctant to praise Mcology.
The only really good song was Last December.

To say it's his best album is stretching it a bit. There was some really good trax on Rave and TRC was really good as an album. They were both a little uneven though. I think Musicology is his most solid effort as of lately. It's certainly his shortest offering (excluding NEWS)

I actually did not find Emancipation to be that good. If it was one CD, it would be decent...but there was too much crap on it that took away from the really good stuff. I don't normally say that about his stuff as there is ALWAYS filler for each fan. But on Emancipation too much filler for 3 hours...and I mean skippers!

Btw, i think Eman was a great album, thats why i say SINCE....

the truth is that since he found his new wife the music has just gotten so much better.
TRC is a masterpiece! one of his all time best! thats when it all started getting better.

Prince improved when he came out of the TRC era.

I think ever since 2003 he's improved.....i think he had a change of heart and everything got better.....the club.....everything
