Billboard Top 200 Album Charts I just peeked at Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Albums 1955-2001 and here is what I found:
Through Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic Prince had 29 albums that charted. This was published pre Rainbow Children/One Night Alone Box/N.E.W.S. and of course Musicology. If anyone has info on those pass it along! One thing I was surprised to see was that Prince has only had three #1 albums: Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, and Batman. Diamonds and Pearls got to #3 as did Parade, "symbol" got to #5, Sign o' the Times and Graffiti Bridge got to #6, 1999 got to #9 and that's it for top 10's. Lovesexy almost made it at #11. I could print the whole list if anyone cared. Interesting.

After 'Rave...,' 'The Very Best Of Prince' peaked at no.66 in late 2001. A few months later, 'The Rainbow Children' entered and peaked at no.108. ONA...Live! and N.E.W.S. failed to chart at all. Now with 'Musicology' entering at either no.2 or no.3, Prince will 32 charted albums on the top 200, and 11 total top tens.
