call my name on breezeblock

wow, listening to breezeblock on radio 1 last night, coming up to 2am. This show is mostly sample frenzy stuff, drum and bass but one of the best on radio 1.

So at 1.55am i couldnt believe it when i heard the slow drum roll intro. My first hearing of anything off Musicology on the radio. What a surprise that was, kept me awake for another hour. Mary anne hobbs ended the show stating that we need more Prince.

I have only ever heard "Lets work" on there before, as a break from the intensity of modern production i suppose. That stood out as a funky track and the bass solo in he middle was superb.

hey spoida...

thanks for the report.

whose mix was CallMyName included in?

i have heard P's music recently in Breezeblock Mixes by:

---Sofia Coppola played "It's Gonna Be Lonely"

---Alison Goldfrapp played "Mountains"

---Ghostly International (Ann Arbor record label profile) where their annual P-covers show by Paisley Product included "Raspberry Beret" & "Darling Nikki"

... i have also heard Felix Da Housecat include "Sexy Dancer" & "Stand Back" in an old Breezeblock Mix.
