17 Days...'cause it's the better song.
People ain't really gonna get nowhere comparing the musicology tracks to Prince classics.

Maybe not, but I just thought it might be fun to talk about the two songs, since they both have a number in them and end with the word "days". RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Its an odd comparison but A million days.....17 days sounds too dated.

The fact that there is even a song that we can compare to 17 Days is great! I think we're always going to choose 17 days because it is a classic that we've lived with for 20 years. Ask someone that's just getting into Prince now and I'll bet they feel for A Million Days the way that alot of us feel for 17.

17 days.
How could it not win with the "all i got is 2 cigarettes and this broken heart of mine" line?

Million Days doesn't really stand a chance against a long time Prince classic, so 17 Days. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Musicology's got some decent songs, but how can you dare put them up against any of Prince's '80s output???

You're right, it's all about perception. Who's listening to it? That's kinda the beauty of the site, you have perceptions from A-Z. IMO I think they're too different to compare. Different style and feel ya know. To pick one over the other wouldn't be plausible. Prince paints two very distinguished pictures with both. Both are great songs, this will be an interesting question 10-15 years from now. Your kid might be telling you, 'A Million Days' is a classic. You'll look down at him/her... and say, "boy what you know about a classic? Go downstairs, get that purple box wit my CD's in it" "What box, what's a CD?" they'll ask. Blue
