some dude thought a million days was from emancipation era, but that's crazy...the production is way different, plus prince plays drums on this one.
i vouch that none of these songs are from "the vault" although prince said himself that they were recorded over a long period of time.

It's always hard to tell with Prince. Since as far back as Around the World in a Day (Raspberry Beret was in its infancy in 1981), Prince has had a habit of taking songs that were several years old and incorporating them into his new albums. Sign of the Times, Grafitti Bridge, and Emancipation are full of older songs. And then of course, his Rave album featured a ten year old title track.
It seems like Prince has spent a lot of time reflecting on his past work over the last two years (if the reflection room on NPGMC is anything to go by)- so that while one could hear the Gold era in a track like "A Million Days", you could also make the arguement that Prince was reflecting on his mid-90s music one evening in 2003 and decided to write a song similar in style. Because you can hear several different Prince albums and eras throughout the Musicology album. Only Prince knows the truth in that respect....

Some of the songs should have been left in the Vault. Not to be a hater, but we've all heard other songs that have never been "released" that could have made their way onto Musicology.
Cinnabon Grrrl and Illusion, Coma, Pimples are just such dry efforts. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
