Musicology will not drop out of the top 10 in US Think about it, since we now know that concert sales of Musicology are included in the chart and he is doing minimum two concerts per week to an average attendance of say17,500 people thats 33,000 album sales minimum throughout the length of the tour which when combined with retail sales, although less than 1st week sales, could see a lengthy chart run for Prince in the US, until October at least! The fact that the Cd will still remain in the top 10 is promotion in itself because it will still be visible on the main shelves in record stores allowing the casual shopper to pick it up! To me, this is probably the best marketing move ever by any artist, i think a lot of people on here have underestimated just how smart it is! And plz dont start the argument that its all an illusion and that they are "giveaways" since we already know that people who attend the concerts have paid for the cd the same way u would pay in stores! | |
