This is a tough one for me..."what do u want me 2 do" has a FONKY bass line but then again "Girlfriend" has the whole feminine/masculine thing going on which is soo innovative. NOBODY has yet to tackle that. Then again, I like the "Maturity" Prince poses in "What do u want me to do"..I'm realy torn on the 2 songs..which one would u go with??

To me, this is Prince at his most vunerable. It is the girl who has who has his heart, instead of the other way around. He has to make a choice.

I love WDYWMTD?...but hands down IIWYG all the way.

IIWYG is the best prince track ever, and WDYWMTD isn't even the best track on musicology. you do the math...

I love WDYWMTD...it is my fave on the album(at the moment!)but you cannot compare it to IIWYG. That song is in a league of it's own...nothing compares to it.

WDYWMTD is the best prince track ever, ok best on Musicology I think and IIWYG isn't even the best track on SOTT. I Give that accolade to TBODP but then again maths was never my strong point.

IIWYG made me a Prince fan so its a really hard Q. I vote WDYWMTD cos it's getting dissed and it's so lovely and mellow. Kind of like a Michael Jackson Ballad done the right way.

I find it really odd that Prince is getting so much attention over this album of virtual retreads. I like the album, but he's done so much better so many other times. This is the album that's got all the critics on Prince's dick? That's just wrong.

If I Was Your Girlfriend is a masterpiece...WDUWM2D is simply a good song.

Although I really like 'What Do U Want Me 2 Do' it can never beat 'If I Was Your Girlfriend', which is like the coolest track P ever recorded.

I'd be interested to know when Digitalgardin became a fan, or how old they are.

This has to be one of the stupidest comparisons I've ever seen here. WDYWMTD definitely grew on me, and I totally get with the reworked bosa nova concept, and his vocal intonation is spot on. But to be thought of in the same league as IIWYG?!?!?!?! You think the bass in WDYWMTD was funky? The f*cking bass in IIWYG is a chinquagaziliofrillion times more funky, and it's just a single-note pluck for f*cks sake!!!!! I'm sorry if I've offended your tastes but my feet are encased by a concrete appreciation of pure goodness and expect the majority of folks here to stand with me and together we'll call you crack-beeyatch in sweet unison.
