Fav tracks off Emancipation and why?

This is one hell of an album to get through! Everyone seems to have different favourites and always different choices for singles that should of been released!

Heres my list of favs in no current order:-

1)"Mr happy"- love this song, chorus swings well, rap is good, great song
2)"Holy river"- Everyone loves this track right? Brings a tear from time to time this one! Very thoughtful, beutiful track with great words too!
3)"Slave"- the production on this is great, good words again, very funky!
4)"New world"- very uplifting, but dancable too, great chorus
5)"Da da da", no Prince on leads, but a good rap track nonetheless!
6) "Saviour"- love to here this performed live! Porduction is very full and rich sounding, gorgeous epic happy song
7)"Joint to joint"- This is the wierdest song off album and i love it! The tap-dancing, the ending, the breakdowns, lyrics, ultra-funky, this track rules!
8)"In this bed eye scream"- very touching, but not just to prince though, which is why its so good, throwdown at the end is also cool

Damn I could go on and on, this makes me relaize that "Emancipation" has alot of good tracks on it! I know alot of u proberly don't like that crisp, ultra shiny production but in fact, i just relaized that just a year or 2 after the release of Emancipation, Britney Spears, Nsync etc... came out with simular dance pop clean productions too, hey, maybe prince was one step ahead on the pop production side of things on this one, what ya think?

Emancipation. Compared to most of the album, its downbeat, sparse and definitely under-rated at this site. It has that sort of "where are all the instruments?" arrangement that only Prince can get away with
Somebody's Somebody. Dark and groovy
White Mansion. I like the echo on his voice. Its all very wistful
Damned If Eye Do. I don't really, really love the song - I just like the Santana-like spag out of the last two minutes
Eye Can't Make U Love Me. Yes, I prefer it to the original
Soul Sanctuary. Heartfelt and touching
Dreamin' About U. Haunting and dream-like
Let's Have A Baby. I like the repetiveness of the main musical refrain. Its like a mantra
Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother/Wife. I like the music, arrangement and vocal. The lyrics are a bit lost on me though smile
Sleep Around This could have had a 70s-themed pimpadelic video like Madonna's 'Deeper And Deeper' and would have been a hit if released as a single
My Computer Catchy and rather depressing really
The Love We Make Remember when he could sing about "God" and sound spiritual rather than religious? I love this song - its possibly the best track on the album.

Emancipation is a true work of art because it covers so many styles.....STYLE is a good one! My other favs are In this bed EYE scream, and emancipation. The love we make is a mind blowing beauty. This is one of the only songs that I sometimes play as a mobile DJ that always gets comments. This song is created in a way that DEMANDS you to listen to the lyrics. TRUE STORY...I played this song one time at the end of a prom, after it was over I had a teacher come up to me (she had to be 60) and ask who it was, I told her and she said "that was the most beautiful song I think I have ever heard".....nice, very nice indeed.

Even though I like some of them, cover versions have been omitted to save space.
