Wow!! Thats not bad at all, considering there hasnt been much marketing and promotion over here, like there has been in the USA, other than in the newspapers and the video shown on MTV, VH1, KISS Cable Channels!!

Basically, CDs and DVDs over here have 2 sell on their own merit, cos theres nowhere near the amount of chat and talk shows for artists 2 appear on,to promote their new material, like there is in the USA!!!

PRINCE IS BACK!!!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

No 1 - Guns 'n' Roses - Greatest Hits
No 2 - Anastacia - Anastacia
No 3 - Prince - Musicology!!!!!

I was SOOOO pleased when I found out last night! Don't get me wrong, I know how contrived and meaningless the charts are these days. (Well, at least if you live in the UK. It's wall-to-wall with plastic pop and teen Pop Idols who've never picked an instrument up in their life). And I'm glad Prince has made a stand - and risen above - the powers-that-be. He's 100% ARTIST.

However... there's NOTHING like walking down the street and seeing posters splashed everywhere, walking into the wrecka store and seeing his cd on the shelves, turning on the tv and seeing the video - it's just like the old days! And, as Gold319 said - compared to the US, there's been a lot less media coverage.

I promised myself that, if it reached the Top 20 I'd be pleased. If it reached Top 10, I'd be happy. Top 5? I'd be vvv happy. And, if it reached No 1, I'd be OVERJOYED! So I'm vvv happy biggrin

As it is, it's a fantastic record and he deserves this success. I'm so very proud to be a Prince fan at the moment. Whatever route he takes next - whether it's another 'accessible' album or one that goes TOTALLY over the head of the general public - I'll stick with him. But doesn't it feel great at the moment??? cool
