Lovesign was starting to become a hit and WB squashed it completly...Remember it was coming out as an independent release after 'Beautiful Girl" was a hit...

Lovesign was the shit when it was came out...I was in LA at the time and stations were pumping it non-stop. Then it just stopped! I learned that WB squashed that shit real quick. But it was still buimpin in the clubs for a while. That's when I learned that no matter how bomb a song is, if a rec company doesn't want it heard, there ain't shit a brotha can do...cept Warn-a-Brotha!
But the L sign fits you to a tee Tom! You should start it up again! Why don't you give us a pic of you wavin it like the cute little girl in the pic! wink
Just make sure people know it's about Love, and that you're not a LOSER!

it was set to be a #1 followup to the #1 hit the Most Beautiful Girl in the World. WB blocked the release, then later blocked the independent release of the Gold Experience (which Prince planned to do independently simultaneous with the WB released Come) which was also set to have Dolphin be a top 10 single. This week is the most success Prince has had since all of that happened. A top 10 single here:

and a top 3 album debut.

Right at the end he's about to get shot by Nonah, but he 'makes' the Love Sign, and she decides against it - instead she trades her gun in for NPG concert tickets eek lol lol
