Call it what you want, I'ma call it how it be: the album Musicology is classic Prince. Musicology has everything that makes a great Prince album. Great melodies, whip snappin' ass shakin' rhythms, guitar rock, purple funk(even the MPLS sound oozes out at the 2nd half of the title track),sultry ballads, humorous yet relevant yet spacey yet funny yet sexy lyrics, plus tons of sounds you never hear on the radio. You could give this album to someone who doesn't know a thing about Prince and it sums him up nicely. [This message was edited Sun Apr 25 22:24:16 2004 by skywalker] "New Power slide...."

I agree, it's addictive as hell. Even though I think it is short and missing at least one mind-blowing solo or song.

I don't know about classic Prince...more like derivative Prince to me...nothing groundbreaking in this one...but still fairly good... "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

I totally agree with you. It's been so long since I've played every song from a new album let alone a Prince one. I've had a lot of fun listening to this album. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
