3 chains o' gold....

Just listened to this one for the first time in a while....what a song! Anyone can say that yes P did borrow from Queen on this one....who cares????this song rocks. Also, listening to the rest of the SYMBOL album has been quite an eyeopener. This is a GOOD/EVIL battle going on with Prince on this one. Half the songs are overtly sexual (Sexy MF, Continental) while others border on preaching (7, God created women, 3 chains of gold). Prince changed on this album....and I think for the better. Listen to how cheesy My name is Prince sounds compared to the tracks later in the album. Even Sexy MF sounds lame next to the latter tracks. If you get rid of some of the cheesy rapping (NOT PRINCE) this album is incredible. I wanna melt with you is so different that it is actually nice. Continental just plain rocks out. And as much as I hate to admit it.....I love THE FLOW, it has an energy to it that cannot be denied. I hear many people rag this album out, but after another listen today..first time in years...this stands as one of Prince's best. Easily

3 chains o gold is great. Yes he borrowed from Queen on that, but Prince really tears it up. Especialy with all the different motions. Very dramatic, Prince is one of few people who really crafts a song into soap opera....and it's never cheesy!

Well, except the "Give back the chains! If you dont you will die!...etc" part. The cheese-o-meter went through the roof at that point.
