Just watched the American idol show with Barry Manilow (im in Australia, bit of a delay) but what are your thoughts on having a Prince special on idol, where they have to sing his songs...dont know if Prince would do it though, but i would love to see it?

It'd never happen, first because Prince is against their whole glorified karaoke contest, artificial excuse for music. Second, because it'd expose how talentless they all really are.

it wouldnt happen i dont think cuz prince believes in making ur career from nothing by urself, and plus hes not gunna dis ne one up there...so i think itd be pointles..but i thought about that b/c they did put barry on there

Amen, Prince would not put up with Simon's antics (and I don't blame him). If Simon said something the least bit negative about Prince, Prince would have his bodyguards on him in a heartbeat.

Okay, picture the scene when Ryan Seacrest announces that the guest judge today will be Prince. I can picture everyone in the joint standing on their feet, clapping and cheering. Paula of course would be excited to see Prince, since she has worked with him in the past. Randy would do his trademarked, "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" With his hand up in the air, and he would probably want to shake Prince's hand. The only person who would not be standing up and cheering for Prince would be Simon. I can picture him sitting there with a bored, "Who-gives-a-fuck-I-don't" look on his face. I think Simon needs to take Prozac or something, he never seems to show much emotion at all.

The best you can hope for is for Sheila E. to appear for a Minneapolis Sound show.
