Prince Vs Warner Bros... Think about it...
He is GIVING away his album. His tour is an incredible success. He is getting airtime. His video is close to the top of the charts-even on MTV. He is EVERYWHERE in the media. His album is getting accolades from nearly everyone. I believe he will at LEAST get nominated for AMAs and Grammies and probably win some. ALL of this with no help from "Warner Bros" or the like. He has the potential to single handedly turn the recording industry upside down once and for all, and go down as THE innovator in the business, not just the innovator of music. He truly become an "Icon" not just an "80s Icon". I am NOT saying any of us "FAMs" need any of this affirmation, but it feels pretty cool to have everyone I know excited about Prince, jumping on the bandwagon and not giving me a hard time about being an NPGMUSIC Club member. I get a call a week asking me how to get tickets for his shows. Prince Vs MJ? "Prince wins!"-Chris Rock Prince Vs Warner Bros? "Prince wins!"-Dan Stratford

Seems like he's still working on the whole getting the masters back thing. I just wish he could have gotten that squared away (if it's ever to happen) before this blitz so HE'D be the one to profit most from it. People must be buying up the back catalogue like crazy right now

• He's doing his part this time around, such as appearing on talk shows and doing magazine interviews.
• He's giving away the album - and even though it's technically being purchased, it gets the consumer to HEAR it. • He IS still working on getting his Master Recordings back - but what he's really doing is making them valuable again. What good are having your Masters (in the future) if nobody is listening anymore? Now they're listening again . . . • He made an album that is accessible to the "public" and not just US. That, along with the appearances, are what make the difference this time. Musicology can sell millions, get airplay, fill arenas for the tours -- but what's going to SUSTAIN this momentum is not only proper promotion NOW, but what his follow-up will be . . .
