Here it Is...

A difference in opinion that for some unknown reason people can't deal with. It's almost like your taking it as a shot against your taste in music. So in return a threads get made like those so everyone can take there turn to shoot back.Who the hell cares if someone dosent like what you find to be brilliant.I personally dont like anything he's done since the Revolution broke up minus Lovesexy. And there's people here that think his new stuff is his best work.Good for you,so what?We all started coming here at one time or another due to a love of music by a great artist.Every person up in here has good taste shit! But I think some of you younger people here dont really understand how huge he was back in the 80's.Prince was the shit, and everyone knew it.There was nobody ever like him before. It was like seeing Jimi Hendrix/James Brown/Sly Stone and Little Richard all at once.Glad I was there to experience it but just as he did,I changed my tastes as well.Prince has been around along damn time and has generated many new fan bases due to him evolving.I would rather see Prince playing what he does today over one of these bands from the 60's or 70's still playing the same old shit,no new material for a couple of bucks.Art is about seeing the world and how it makes you feel and expressing it however you do.Prince is a true artist no doubt. He's just painting different pictures for different people these days and lets leave it at that.

I have until September of next year to say The Gold Experience. After that date, I'll say The Rainbow Children.

no way. cos it's got shit on there like She Gave Her Angels and Hide The Bone, which are awful. As is most of the post 94 output. The gold experience wasn't to bad. but it pisses me off that he put a really crap mix of Endorphine Machine on there for no apparent reason...

Ok this is what I mean.I remember the first time I heard "Kiss".I was fuckin blown away man.Same goes for "When Doves Cry" and everything else from Controversy 2 Parade.Everyone then was a Prince freak. The Revolution you couldnt touch. Then when they broke up his music just started to become no big deal in my opinion.I finally gave up on him after I heard "Come".Just dosent have that edge setting him apart anymore.I think he finally found some inner peace and got happy.Your music unfortunatly is better the more screwed up your life is.

I don't agree with that. I don't think you need to be fucked up to make great music....however, I think a little drama in one's life can lead to fantastic art and the fact is, Prince has simply calmed down, not gotten less screwed up. I don't think he was ever "screwed up"...just left of centre.
