musicology makes a lot of forgotten prince albums sound much better i mean, TGE was never as great as a lot of people said, but theres nothing as good on the new album as dolphin or shy, theres nothing as great as the love we make or my computer or even courtin time on musicology, and while im going, i might as well say theres nothing as good as dinner with delores on musicology either (although cinnamon girl is good).

TGE, Emancipation, Rave, and TRC blow Musicology away.
Musicology is better than NPS, ONA, and Crystal Ball.

The album is doing quite well thus far commercially and is garnering lots of positive press. This just shows what strong promotion can do for a mediocre album. In a year, few of us will even be thinking about Musicology. I like some songs on the album, but it's average, at best. Unintentionally, Prince is proving the point that songs and albums are promoted to, but not necessarily deserving of top 10 status.
Quite frankly, I agree with an earlier post that The Chocolate Invasion is stronger than Musicology. There are a couple songs from this album that I like and would like to see as singles, like Cinnamon Girl. I'm hoping like hell that there WILL be an album with Wendy & Lisa in a year. That would be awesome! There was a certain magic to what the three of them created together.

NME, if you're in or around the London/Oxford area, can you recommend any good clubs?

I disagree, I think Musicology is a great album. Very consistent and full of great songs.
True, nothing on Musicology can compare to songs like The Love We Make or Gold, but that's just cause Musicology's only weakness to me is the absence of a truly amazing song. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

basically i'd like to know which places usually have a good mix of college students and the young professional crowd. and of course, if there's a likelihood of some P or P-inspired/related jams being played, all the better.

I mean when i listen to "4 the tears in your eyes" oh my gosh, i could just melt with all of their voices blending in together. It really was like magic. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yeah, and another thing.....maybe one of the reasons why so many absolute duds have made their way onto a released album is because band members and people around Prince are too afraid of him to really express disdain for a particular song. And even if they did, Prince probably didn't/doesn't respect their musical acumen enough to make a change. With Wendy & Lisa, there was valued input and two people who spoke their minds with P.

Imagine Emancipation whittled down to two PRISTINE albums, or imagine both Raves merged . . . Someone needed to pull the plug on NPS and 1999:TNM - but I'm sure they WERE afraid to or weren't listened to . . .

oh my goodness.....that 1999 tnm was so horrible. it was embarrassing. Prince has been in bad need of someone to edit his output lately.
