Sony is a very big label around the world, so it's helping quite a bit that he's with them. Not to say he doesn't deserve every bit of it.

Although it will obviously fall, its gonna get a whole lot bigger before it does. It's gonna be all over the Grammys, record of the year, just like Santana a few years back. Next year's Grammy perfomance is gonna kill. Musicology gonna be HUGE. That's right, I said it.

Well, you ain't gotta worry about being pissed off because Musicology won't be nominated for any type of Grammy. Don't mean to be a pessimist, but it just won't. And, I'm pretty sure that after this week, the album will decline from the #3 position to the bottom of the Top 10 for next week. The only thing that may save it next week is this simulcast he's got going on tonight. It'll make the public more conscious of him and that he's got something new coming out, and MAY sell a few more CDs. Prince's biggest mistake on this project was releasing "Musicology" as the first single! I've said it time and time again that it's too WEAK to be the first single. "A Million Days" would've served a LOT better as the first single (along with a high-quality video like Musicology has now). I like all of the other choices made for his promotion, though. Sony/Columbia has really turned it up several notches in promoting this thing. I mean, NO ONE else (includes all the "in" people over the last few years like Britney, Madonna, MJ, N Sync, you name it; Prince seems to be the only diverse enough to actually be on the three diff. music style channels of BET, MTV, and VH1) has ever had all of the music channels (all Viacom's, of course) play the same thing at the same time to get EVERYONE'S attention. The last time this happened was the news coverage on 9/11 when they all went to the CBS feed. So, kudos, at least, to Prince for being able to pull this off.
