I went to my local Best Buy (Emeryville, CA) today to pick up my retail Musicology and could not find one anywhere. Not only that, but I checked out the Prince section and found only 4 total Prince CDs in a space that could hold 30-35 CDs. There were only 1 Rave, 2 Hits part 1, and 1 hits part 2. He must be selling quite a large number of older CDs.

Damn. I'm headed to Best Buy right after I leave work in a half hour to pick up my Musicology retail copy and one or two of the 3 Prince albums I don't own on cd.

Hope I'm not met with the same fate as you!

so do the concert cd's count on soundscan??? Because I can't see many people buying the retail version.

IF you go with someone to the concert that 2 cd's.. ONE you give away.

Same here. Went to Circuit City and got the LAST copy in the store...WHEW!! As a matter of fact the SAME Best Buy! The Bay is has eaten the CD's up like...

I have the promo, so I can hold out for a little while. The Best Buy here has one copy of ONA which I still don't have, but it could be gone since I last checked.

Just as I suspected, I walked in the Best Buy in my white bread-ass Chicago suburb and found scores of Musicology cds on the shelf, and an impressive though incomplete back catalogue featuring everything from "For You" to the "New Power Generation" cd single. Tons of "Purple Rain," tons of hits discs.

Unfortunately, no "Prince," which I also wanted to buy. And not a soul in sight near the Prince section...

I did get my vindication, though, in the fact that they were BUMPING Musicology over the speaker system. So here's me in the aisle, audibly yelling, "Aw, shit nah!" and grooving up the aisle to pay and be on my way.

I just bought the musicology CD here in san jose
its already growing on me

i didnt see any other copy so i guess its the last one

That's funny. I went to my local Best Buy and they had tons of copies, overflowing from the rack. It wasn't even in their top selling section.

I also ask cause I went to Best Buy today and the shelves were more than halfway empty for Musicology and they were in the same place they were in earlier this week.

I got mine at Best Buy today but when I got home and opened it, the cd was cracked Now I have to return it and wait EVEN LONGER to get to listen to it.

I have been 2 four Best Buys and 2 Walmarts and they each had a TON of Musicology cds. I don't think it's doing well here in Dallas at all. I could be wrong, but I pray it does well.

It's quite clear that you don't like EvilWhiteMale, which is your right obviously. But there's no "evidence" which indicates that everyone else has to dislike him as well.

i went to my best buy today and they had 7 copies left. it was the most depleted in the top selling section. when i got mine on tuesday they easily had 50+ copies so i guess it's selling here. which is rather odd, but good!

I always like these sort of debates after a cd is released. I want to best buy and no copies! I want to best buy and they only had a few copies! They must be selling!! I seen so many copies at my best buy and its just not selling. It just makes sense to wait a few weeks and see how the album does on the charts and see how it does on the radio.

I just was in Starbucks and I was the only person ordering coffee, so Starbucks must be not doing so well. Ok.
