Yeah, you're probably right. I've still not bought it yet.

Ah, don't hate. They were innovators at a time when the world needed it...great hooks, lyrics, enthusiasm.
Then they tried to take it further. But the AWTIAD album is a takeoff on the Sgt Pepper album. And they always stated who their influences were: Little Richard (oooo), and soul tunes. Shake it Up Baby? They can thank the Isleys for that. And they are soulful. The end of Gold is beatle-esque. She's Always in My Hair towards the last verse (she ca-ares: totally beatles). And truthfully I'd feel alot better about this distinction if Michael Jackson hadn't bought most of the catalog...and just been indicted. Everybody's on the Prince train now. Cuz he's the real deal.

Me neither.
I love Them Beats as much as I do Prince; their fans just are more boring and older.

Props to Prince but heck he's been around long enough..and that disc doesn't even BEGIN to take u there. In fact, orgers and npgers would pull that elite crap. u kno it's true. Look at total weeks on the chart. Then scroll down to #4, which just moved up from #10. 759 weeks: Bob Marley, Legend. Then check out #10, for 1,394 weeks: Pink Floyd, Dark Side Of The Moon. Prince is the real deal...he's a musical wonder. And sober. Thank God. His joy in playing is infectious now that he's older and shares more.
