wouldn't it be great, if once a month (hell, once every six months, even) that a new album or EP was available for download at NPGMC. my idea would be for him to put out versions of his protege albums, but the original versions with him on vocals.


for instance, each of the first 3 time albums. all Prince versions.

each of the first 3 Sheila E albums. all Prince versions (the 3rd, self-titled album could be an EP)

The Family, Jill Jones, Vanity/Apollonia 6, Exodus, Carmen (well, some of them, anyway), Chaka, Larry.... plus collections of his versions of songs he gave away to people here and there throughout the years.


i think it's pretty obvious that he has no intention of putting most of this stuff out on CD, but i think that would be a great utilization for the download store.

screw songs that have already been released by other artists - let's hear the 300 or so songs we've NEVER heard, FROM THE VAULT!

if he followed my suggestion, i think a lot of us would be relatively happy with what's coming out of the NPGMC download store, since there's not much chance of him releasing it through the regular channels.
