There just ain't one fav prince song for me, depends on space and emotion

i agree with wefunk. i said joy in repetition earlier and it was very hard 4 me 2 just pick 1 song. prince's repetiore of songs is so large, varied and filled with all sorts of different 'emotional vibes' that the way u feel at a particular moment affects what your fav songs r at that moment.

I think "Little Red Corvette" is his one best song. It captures Prince's rock roots, some of his better lyrics, his eroticism and great when played loud!

101

Ofcourse its impossible to choose. Depends a lot on time and mood. But this one is definitely on my top list:
Princes version of "just my imagination" at the Horse of Troje in the Hague, aftershow. With a guitar solo never heard of...never heard of...it gives me shivers everytime I hear...

Not in any particular order because I love them all equally

Pink Cashmire
Adore
Kiss
Loose
The Beautiful Ones
the entire Emanciaption 2 disc, especially Soul Sanctuary and One Kiss At A Time (those songs give me goose bumps every time)
Mellow
The Greatest Romance Ever Sold

There are a lot of songs I haven't heard yet from past albums and many more to come so I'm sure over the years my list will grow.

"Something In The Water" - 1999. Love that song...and, to me, the lyric line, "Bitch! You think you're special?? So do I.", is quite an emotional "bag". I read love & fear, tenderness & violence, control & confusion, eroticism, and addiction all in that itty bitty mouthful - Prince's voice even cracks when he asks the question...great performance...

p.s. I know I'll have a dif favorite Prince song by tomorrow...by tonight even...lol wink

I'm a young Prince fan, I haven't heard all of his albums yet (so I can't list all my fav's, and I like too many to single one out. But the ones I've listened to over and over are:

Purple Rain, Anna stesia, The Beautiful ones, Diamonds and Pearls, and If I was your girlfriend.

Goodness, decisions, decisions! Well, if I had to choose just one, I have to go with "Purple Rain." It's his signature song.

Hard question. I loved reading everyone's replies, though! Top 4 are: The Beautiful Ones, DMSR, Housequake, Starfish and Coffee. (My 4 year old LOVES to sing Starfish and Coffee. So cute!)

Obviously, it depends on my mood, but I'll say
Endorphine Machine.
I love his guitar-driven stuff as much as his funky stuff, and this song just kicks your ass all the way through. The first time I heard it I about fell off my chair.
If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

I have a certain quartet of songs that I think are very anthemic and great album finishers:-

Purple Rain
Adore
Gold
Last December

Can't believe these aren't being mentioned more!

Let's also throw in Everyday Is A Winding Road. His version is an undisputed classic.

I joke.

Adore & Ballad of Dorothy Parker. I still find something new in Adore everytime I hear it. And I have listened to it almost everyday since the album first cae out. It still brings tears to my eyes.
