Again, love the sentiment... although it seem to cut short a little. This ones screaming for a guitar solo!

5. If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life

Reminds me of eighties Prince. Love the way it seages together with The Marrying Kind and concludes with a riff from that song! Superb.

6. A Million Days

How great is the ending of this song... "I shouldn't put my faith in heroes..."

7. Dear Mr Man

Reminds me of a track from Voodoo, but still, a cool number, still undecided about the lyrics though. I guess it has a universal appeal, not too cryptic... which can only be a good thing!

8. Musicology

A cool vibe, fun lyrics, great video.

9. Call My Name

Reminds me a little of U Make My Sunshine. Not sure on the lyrics to be honest, but the vibe is definately hot!

10. Reflection

Ends the album on a subtle note. Not quite up there with the best of The Truth, but a nice song all the same.

11. Cinnamon Girl

Nice track. Nothing special though. Could be because the guitar riff reminds me of Bon Jovi.

12. Life O The Party

The only throw-away track on the album. Drivel.

Like everyone else, I was just filling some of those in in the middle...I actually love "Illusion..." and I've got it at #8! I AM SURE, though, that my top 2 and bottom 2 are correct... I'm really LOVING the title track and "What do u..." and I'm just not feeling the last two on my list right now.

I know it's two songs but they are fused at the hip like no two Prince songs and together they are the emtional peak of Musicology.

2. Musicology

It's easy to underestimate a funk song that strives to be pop, but those are harder to pull than they look.

3. Reflection

Another example of simplicity as an art form. Like reading a page from Prince's diary, this is Prince at his emtionally naked best.

4. Dear Mr. Man

Making a political statement sound funky as hell is an accomplisment, whether you agree with the politics.

5. On the Couch

6. Call my Name

Not sure which one is best -- both are superbly crafted ballads that manage to feel raw and refined at the same time.

7. Illusion, Pimp and Circumstance

The only reason this song is ranked lower than Musicology and Dear Mr. Man is that it's a broad funk canvas and is lyrically loose. It's a wonderful song, but probably easier to pull than Dear Mr. Man and Musicology.

8. What do U Want Me to Do

Lovely song -- it ranks lower because it's so clearly a descendant of Dorothy Parker.

9. A Million Days

This song has grown on me to some extent -- at first, it sounded like the Arms of Orion of Musicology.

10. Cinnamon Girl

Very conventional, by-the-book pop rock arrangement -- interesting lyrics make it decent.

11. Life O the Party

Another conventional song -- it's ok, but utterly unconvincing as a party anthem.

That said, I appreciate Life of the Party more than I did, after seeing it done live. I wish the studio version was a little more thrilling, at least the first half of the song. The Marrying Kind is ok, but the song after that really eclipses it to me. All of these songs are pretty good, I wouldn't replace a single one of them!

Interesting results so far. One song now clearly in front , 3 songs pretty solid in their positions on the bottom #2 though #9 very tight.
