NME do have a history of giving many inaccurate reviews and also accurate aswell. The problem I have with them is they dont seem very open minded its more whats in whats out. I mean they do a list each year of whos cool,Like what the fucks that all about. I do agree with Monell that the likes of Mojo are better ,but they are more open minded ,they discuss the album's and the styles on it,they also dont give it marks outta 10 or stars etc. The only real way to find out if u like something is to listen to something yourself,I mean imagine if Evil White Male was a reviewer for a magazine ,Musicology is going to get a shit review.

Nobody buys NME anymore. Its been on the verge of shutting down for a few years now. So who cares what their review says... no one will read it.

Ah well... those were the times... do you remember? They called "Come" a "cunnilingual concept album". Simply great. Wolf

Would you say that as well if they were to give P 10 points out of 10???

The NME believes that it is reflecting the views of its readers who are mainly young university students or middle age men still believing that they are young university students. Aaahm, aren't those two groups combined the strongest music records buying group??? So not too bad to try to cater to them, or? Who would you suggest they should try to represent...

Would you say that as well if they were to give P 10 points out of 10??? I'd say that Prince must be seriously trendy. They gave Blurs Great Escape 9/10 coz they were trendy,by the end of the year Oasis were far more trendy and they were claiming The Great Escape was wank.

What do you think of "Gold Experience"? Why, what will that qualify in your mind? I think it's over-produced and should have had Days of Wild and Interactive on it, now that you ask, though. Musicology is adult-alternative Prince, with a funky kick. Just where you're coming from. TGE was his best since SOTT, in my opinion. It was the first one where the sound he was going for totally departed from his past stuff as well as the then-trendy production style, and you know what? 10 years down the road, that's often the stuff that hasn't dated. And I totally agree with your Musicology summary, which to me, makes it his best since TGE.

[This message was edited Thu Apr 22 13:13:09 2004 by Shapeshifter] It's funny: you say drop it, but you keep battlin'! It's a VERY good, somewhat fluffy pop album from Prince. We can settle our differences here mighty quick. What do you think of "Gold Experience"? Simple: Gold Experience is Prince's last masterpiece to date. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently
