It would get ZERO radio play, it would be blacklisted.

S'ok having an anti-Government album track that only people who buy the album hear, but having it blasting out on the radio, in people's cars, homes and workplaces is another thing.

Remember who owns all the big radio stations.

Y'all know that the country (USA) and maybe the world is divided (almost exactly in half) on these issues, right? Not a good way to win a popularity contest; tho, no denying that the music itself would be a hit.

Um, no, Prince does NOT come off as "pro-war" or Republican in ANY song on Musicology (or any other album for that matter). He writes decisively anti-Bush, anti-Patriot Act, anti-war on terror, etc. lyrics in Call My Name, Cinnamon Girl, and Dear Mr. Man.

I think its safe to say judging by the sticker on the album 'Call My Name' will be the next single. Which is a good choice.

As pointed out in other threads, stickers on previous albums have featured songs that never got released as singles, i.e. "The Continental" on .

"So began the mass illusion, war on terror alibi" could be definitely called anti-Patriot Act. Still, it's open to interpretation like most of his lyrics. I think "Cinnamon Girl" stands a better chance of succeeding as a single by seeming topical without taking a strong stance on anything. "Dear Mr. Man" seems an unlikely choice since the politics could alienate some listeners. Prince is playing to a mass audience this time out, not just to the NPGMC.
