Musicology

How amazing is this album?!! Musicology totally personifies what Prince's music repersents - FUNK. To Prince- you have done it again and I am so happy that you continue to create outstanding music for us all to hear. Growing up in Minneapolis has been the best gift from up above to be able to grow up and know that you came from the same place as I, is something special. I believe that you are a true gift from God! I will be at the June 16th show, section C10, row 7. Unfortunately I could only get one ticket - but I will be there by myself cheering you on. Congrats on another album WELL DONE! In addition, welcome the new band. You have done a fantastic job as well.

Does anyone know if shows are still being put on at Pasley Park?

Prince has lost it !!!

The man has not written a descent song in years. He is NOT funky !!!! Just a very poor imitation of funk.

Every time Prince releases an album the only thing I feel on hearing it is extreme disappointment and anger that such a huge talent, who has given me so much pleasure in life, has fallen to this level. The many who tried desperately to emulate Prince in the past have now surpassed him.....he is a has been !

Its time for Prince to either Shut Up or PLEASE PLEASE give the world what we know he is capable of - the imagination, the passion, the highs and lows ! Tell me when you listen to Musicology, Emancipation, Symbol, GoldEX and Diamonds&Pearls do you feel the way you felt when you first heard Paisley Park? The Beautiful Ones? How come u dont call me anymore? and so on ?

Surely the answer is No. Perhaps you have all forgotten the man and the music we fell in love with! Prince is predictable, stale and obviously without inspiration.
god i hate would be goths !

Anxiety

If by some weird chance a copy of Musicology were to have slipped through time and space and landed in my hands in 1984 during the midst of Purplemania, after I recovered from the heart attack I would have listened to it and undoubtedly not have been surprised that this is what Prince would sound like in 20 years. I think this album is the most natural progression of his sound that I've heard in a long time, at least in terms of his pop sensibilities. When Tina did Private Dancer, it didn't sound like the old stuff she did with Ike. When Bowie put out Let's Dance, it didn't sound like Ziggy. Why are we trying to preserve Prince's sound in some kind of aural amber? People get older, they change, they mellow, they refine. He ain't gonna be humpin' amps and spoogin' out his guitar neck for the rest of his life, shee.
