I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

My first Prince album was DIAMONDS AND PEARLS in 1991..I was 12 and I really liked it..I had always heard of Prince but never paid him much attention time then..but I wore that album out....I got D&P like in late 1991..by the time the Symbol CD came out in 1992, I was HOOKED..I remember walking 3 hours to the mall on the day that CD came out(and risking getting my ass beat by my mama) to get the Symbol album..I was OBSESSED by then!

It was the "Prince" album and my brother bought it for me because I wouldn't stop playing his and I was 7. First one I bought with my own money was "Controversy" the day it came out. Thank God my brother hipped me to the good stuff!

My first album was Purple Rain, which was given to me as a birthday gift by someone I went to school with...then a few days later, I got all his other albums up to Purple Rain on my 14th birthday, so I kinda got everything in one fell swoop. biggrin

1999.
I loved it and started to search out his previous albums. Then of course he released an
obscure little lp called Purple Rain and the world woke up to Prince.

My first album was The Hits 1. Although this was the first one I owned, it wasn't the first one I heard. First was Diamonds and Pearls, surely the best? cool

The first Prince album I "owned" was a theft, not a sale. I took my sister's "1999" LP from her. She had purchased "1999" and "Purple Rain" (when she was only 10) and then I was finally hip to Prince...all late.

Once "Around the World in a Day" was released, I bought my first Prince record myself. And then "Sign O' the Times" was the album that sent me back for all of his pre-"1999" work.

No looking back.

Purple Rain! I actually rented the video weekly for about 2 months before I got round to buying the Album! It would have been about 1985. Bought it whilst on Holiday in Edinburgh. Still remember the day. Got my dad to play it in the car (cassette) and when Darling Nikki came on his face dropped. I would have been about 13/14!

It was a choice between Purple Rain or Rabert Palmers Album, due to the song Addicted to Love! I made the right choice! Then I went and bought his entire back catalogue!

The Hits / The B-Sides BOX SET - By complete fluke; my bro played me some D&P when I was 6/7 and I was obsessed, so when I went home, I assumed my family must have some Prince if he were so damn famous and all my dad had was that. I loved the B-Sides and The Pope, those were my faves I remember.
I've since lost it, and therefore one of my fav tracks...Shockadelica. cry

Parade, after buying and playing the Girls & Boys 12" to death - I loved this album at the time and still do. My brother had Purple Rain, but I didn't like it, I also initially didn't like the follow-up to Parade, SOT - I tried to return it to the shop, but they said no - turned out to be a good call, it grew on me.

The Gold Experience... of course, I knew and had listened to the old stuff.. that's how I knew about P in the first place... but the first album I actually bought was the Gold Experience.. the cassette was at a flea market for $4. Then I went back and got Emancipation.. Now, I'm working on the old stuff.. I bought Purple Rain and 1999 last Friday!

I was 11 and it was D&P I was hooked by then. Cream was the first Prince song I can remember listening to. I bought all his albums then thanks to my parents and paperround. I did not need my parents to tell me about the birds and bees after his albums. He is my God he keeps me going, His music inspires me to be nice to girls and people.

Parade was my first Prince album. My mom got it for me when I was 7. We were visiting my Dad in Las Vegas and I told them I really wanted the album. A couple of days before we left, we got the album and I had to wait till we got back home to NYC to hear it. Then when we got there, I put it on and I thought I was going to hear Purple Rain 2 but it sounded nothing like it. I liked it quite a bit then and it made me get more of his records. Now I love the album.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Purple Rain. I was about 15. By the time I turned 18 and SOTT was out, I was a completely Prince obsessed freak.

It was just a couple of years ago, i'm not sure how old i was though.. I was watching VH1 and Purple Rain was on..I was like "who in the hell is that dude in the heels??" and then my mom started telling me about Prince. I'm like "Prince??". But after watching the movie, i was hooked..Prince was the sexiest man in the world after that. After the movie, came the album so i guess "Purple Rain"

My first Prince album was Parade. I was six yrs old. My aunt bought it for me.
One night she took me to see Under the Cherry Moon and the next morning I woke up the cassette was outside my bedroom door.
I blasted it early that morning. I was excited
