Prince didn't seem too cool with the gay angle during a ONA London concert. A guy in the audience shouted out "We love you Prince". Prince stopped the song, said that he thought the voice was too low to be shouting that, and that he didn't want no men saying that they loved him. He was trying to be funny, but it didn't quite work.

I think the whole Gay thing came about cause Prince wore Girly Clothes, had Long Hair,Wore Make-Up and posed and talked about his Ass and showed it to us . I think for a Black Guy Performer to do that in MINNESOTA no less Back Then had to be Considered Gay. UTCM is campy from beginning to end for starters... That poster of Prince that was available during the LoveSexy concerts (with him in drag make-up and hoop earings) was far more than just "being in touch with your feminine side." The list goes on... Ever since around 1991 or so it seems like he's played it down in that respect, however.... I don't know whether that's due to the whole 'gangsta' image or him growing more conservative.

So, really, your own remark is tired, no disrespect intended.

Here is the truth as I have heard it.....Prince believes that he has several personalities within him...or should I say he thinks several different spirits embody him. One of these SPIRITS is in fact female. Therefore the SYMBOL represents Prince as a whole....part male spirituality, part female. There is no doubt that the Symbol sparked some gay talk. Not to mention his clothing. But for the most part I think that people just don't GET Prince, and the easiest thing to do is criticize something you don't understand. It's the same reason MJ gets all his flak....he's misunderstood. Personally I don't think he's a PEDDER, I just think he's a big ass KID who never grew up. But ask yourself this question...Does it matter which way Prince swings? We should all just be thankful that we are able to enjoy a talent like this. They don't come along very often.
