I would love to beat Carson Daly with an aluminum baseball bat.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The akward moment came when Carson asked Prince a question about the relevance of his music in a day and age where most music is disposable. Prince replied "You don't play any of that disposable music here, do you? Carson replied, "Well, if I was a bartender and someone ordered Rum & Coke...I'd still give it to them. Even though I don't drink..." It was a tense moment for sure. That's all I really recall from that interview...Yes, I have it. He was promoting Rave Un2 and they had his album cover billboard right outside the TRL Times Square window.

Carson should have asked him if by disposable music he meant a song like "Hot Wit U"

You're right. Prince first asked him what disposable music was. Carson simply said "music that doesn't really seem to stick around for awhile". That's when Prince asked him if he promoted that stuff. Carson was like "well, I gotta pay rent". Prince was like, "Ohhh". Carson made it sound like Prince was speaking Japanese or something. It wasn't hard to understand at all. I think Prince was saying that Carson has no right to call any music "disposable". It's art. Someone out there is always going to enjoy something that the next man doesn't. And second, since Carson is not a musician, and his job is to announce what the next video on the countdown is, who's he to comment on who's disposable and who isn't? At least that's what I got out of it. big grin

Well, another 60 minute crapfest has passed, but no Prince. After his appearence for the Rave cd failed to generate momentum, I'm sure he figured "why bother?"
Also, it would seem hypocritical for him to promote on a show that features show much of the "music" he shows so much disdain for.
FYI, this show is lamer than I even remember. Severly edited videos consistantly interrupted with shrieking kids we don't care about telling us about a place we don't care about, namely where they're from.

wasn't he wearing that tight blue vinyl outfit? or was that for the music awards when introed TLC? or was it for both? I can't remember. I think it's so irritating when he wears the exact same outfit for everything. Kinda like the the whole suit with the uneven hem.....don't get me wrong, I like it, but damn! How many does one man need???
Strange, but I'm more comfortable around you naked.
