The first Prince album I got was prince, and I was 10 or 11. I bought it for $0.99 in a bargain bin at the "White House" store in the mall on a Saturday afternoon. I just picked it up, because I had heard this song with Prince, and I think, Nona Gaye...which I still haven't been able to find and don't remember the title to. I just remember Prince's lyric was "Pop, pop, pop goes the pistol...bang, bang, bang goes the gun". I liked the video to this song, so when I saw the album in that bargain bin I had to have it. It's not my favorite album, but it's my first, so I cherish it. When I bought "The Gold Experience", I became a bigger fan. "The Hits 1 and 2" had me hook, line, and sinker.

My first album was a bootleg copy of the Black Album from a friend in 91. After pretty much dismissing Prince, I could not believe that Prince did Rock Hard in a Funky Place. After that I went back and bought all his previous collection as well as all new releases including two copies of the official release of the Black Album in 94 (one to play, one to save!). See boots aren't that bad!

My first introduction to Prince was the movie Purple Rain, then after hunting down the album, (a feat in itself, living in this small hick-town devoted to country music) I really loved him. Then I found a half worn out Controversy tape at a second hand store, paid $.50 and have been devoted to him ever since!
Strange, but I'm more comfortable around you naked.
