Who is coping who? Prince or D'angelo? Some people are saying that Prince's on the couch is a rip-off of D'angelo's How does it feel. Well we all know that D'angelo said that one of his favorite Prince bootlegs is movie star. So it's safe to say that D has heard other bootlegs by Prince. Maybe just maybe D heard she's just a baby(controvery outtake??) and was thinking of it when he came up with untitled(how does it feel).

Personally... I think it WAS Prince playing on "How Does it Feel". I have no proof, though.

D'Angelo's music sounds like Prince's music from way back before. It is obvious D' Angelo is looking up to Prince's MUSIC....COME ON NOW!!! [This message was edited Sat Apr 17 22:04:55 2004 by Starmist7]

I think hardship develops character. When hard times come, it takes a lot to keep pressing on. It's what often separates the successful from the mundane.
But, I'm confident both Prince and D'angelo have developed excellent coping skills.

LoL That's hilarious! I was a big D' fan back in the day, and remember D'Angelo saying that "Voodoo" began as a demo for him and ?uestlove to send to Prince. He and ?uest were massive Prince fans, which is why the song you're referring to is actually called "untitled", as P was going by the symbol in those days. The song itself (including the racy video) was a tribute to the ballads of Prince. How can Prince rip off a song that was inspired by his body of work? We're fortunate to have people like D'Angelo, Outkast, Beck, No Doubt, and Alicia Keys, though...though their work is heavily inspired by Prince, I'm sure they can also be a source of inspiration to him.
