Though they never play Prince's music on there unless it's in a mix (e.g. Kiss, Let's Work, nothing more current), it was kind of cool hearing the interview. Funny and cool stuff that was already mentioned here. Gotta get back to ya in a minute after I finish hearing him on Steve Harvey's show.
Well you just get ALL the stations, don't you?? Hey ya! I sure do. What a nice thing to be able to have heard three of the "innerviews" this morning. Funny thing (among many) was when he suggested they play ICPC. How cool would that have been if they had downloaded it already? Instead they played "On The Couch" which was cool. Steve Harvey had me rolling with his absolute fondness for old-skool flavored songs, so you know he was in his element just talking to P. All in all, Steve H had the best interview of the three I heard. Still cool just to hear him do interviews. [This message was edited Mon Apr 19 8:37:45 2004 by xpsiter] I am MrVictor....

I'm glad that P is trying 2get more people interested in playing instruments. That is what is lacking in black music today. I'm excluding rock because there are lots of rock and pop bands still but you don't have R&B bands anymore. Remember LTD, Maze, Con Funk Shun, the Barkays, etc. Those days are gone. Maybe B2K will pick up some instruments and respect their elders. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Great interview...He had me cracking up a couple of times...I think he had more fun because the morning team had fun with him... he spoke of studying the bible more in recent years and how his life has changed, etc. One of the guys mentioned that he has been a member of the npgmc for years... Prince was like...That's alright! They teased him about all of the lovely women he has date over the years... Russ and Tom were probably a little intimidated by the interview...which is why they seemed a little "scared" as someone put it... I can't wait to see him on June 11th AGAIN!!! Going back to silent mode and listening to Musicology.... whoever's callin' can't be as cute as you...right then and there i knew i was through...

As far as the Hip Hop statement.....remember Prince utilized Hip Hop unsuccessfully so whatever on that....I get tired of people doggin' Hip hop and only think Hip hop is made up of Lil jon and the ying yang twins.... ----- People only hear little Jon and the Ying Yang twins. I don't know anyone Prince's age that is feeling hip-hop these days. ??? My daughter is 13 and she hears everything from Van Hunt, Erykah badu, Temptations, Tina Turner to the music of today.....good music is there if you want to hear it including good hip hop. Dead Prez, Common and others....great hip hop....so I just don't feel the criticisms...ALL the time..... there is music out there.....support it. back to the topic: Tom joyners interview was awful....was he scared or something...meaning Tom joyner..not Prince...Prince was great?

I listened this morning @ work. My Principal came n on me while I was listening....N I DID'NT EVEN CARE! I was really bothered with Prince's reply as 2 why he does'nt do certain songs anymore. For those of u that did'nt hear it... he said that the people who want 2 hear those songs NEED 2 ask themselves why they want 2 hear those songs...something 2 that xtent. That's JUDGEMENTAL on Prince's part...NOT COOL! Well I'll go ahed n answer that 4 u...(Prince if u c this),I want 2 b xcited like there's no 2 morrow!! The way that ONLY U CAN,u can interpret xcited however u like I've loved u since I was 10 years old, n nobody's sayin that people dont change, but come on now....WHATEVER.....

Damn right, Prince...tell it like it is! It's time to stop all the posing and posturing, non-instrument playing, uninspired noise that's been dominating the airwaves and car stereos for far too long! Real music by real musicians...bring it on. "Hyperactive when I was small, Hyperactive now I'm grown, Hyperactive 'till I'm dead and gone"

Then Chuck Smith (the sports reporter) asked him what he thinks is the driving force of hip-hop, and P said, "It depends on who you ask because Hip Hop doesn't really drive me" Michael Jackson *********************************************

She will not hear on the radio and the public will not hear it either. Soon enough the record labels use lack of sales as an excuse to drop real hip-hop and music. Pretty soon you are only going to hear Lil Jon and the whole dirty south sound.

Prince was delayed talking to Jom Joyner, et. al. becuase his first interview was with Donnie Simpson at WPGC in the DC area. Donnie Simpson (original host of Video Soul) has said for years that he wanted to interview Prince and Prince has much love and respect for Donnie. The interview began promptly at 8am... but it lasted until about 8:25! It was absolutely wonderful!! No timidity from Donnie and both were very relaxed with a great rapport. In fact, they re-aired the interview this morning at 7am. Unfortunately, I did not get all of it on tape, as I was unable to leave work on time (got home about 8:07 - didn't want to run over any kiddies on their way to school) and then my stereo tape deck decided to act up. But I did get at least the last 15 mins - possibly more since I haven't had time to review (I work 12hr night shifts as a nurse, so I needed to be in dreamland by a certain time.)
I taped the Russ Parr interview and it was so disappointing that I may just delete it. But I'm sure one of my fellow LoveSexyDC members got the Donnie Simpson interveiw on tape. I'll be checking with them soon.

Had completley forgotten about it. Not sure that I truly believe in 'diets' any more. It's more about changing your lifestyle and making appropritate lifestyle choices. Perhaps that is what this 'diet' is all about.
