ok. I'm torn. I'm listening to P right now talking to Wanda Smith on WVEE, and she asked him who he wants to work with that he hasn't done any stuff with yet. He answered with a short list (and I'm paraphrasing to get to the point): Beyonce, D'Angelo, Michael Jackson.
Then Chuck Smith (the sports reporter) asked him what he thinks is the driving force of hip-hop, and P said, "It depends on who you ask because Hip Hop doesn't really drive me" "Pedro offers you his protection."

I'm about to listen to Tom Joyner's interview. sidebar: I hate it when the interviewers (not reporters, b/c reporters actually study up on the issues) ask dumb questions!!!!! Daggonniit! If one more person asks him what his name is now, I'm gonna hurl a They asked stupid stuff like, what's up with bein' a Jehovah Witness, and why is this the last tour! I swear, even my daughter could answer those questions, and she's only 7. "Pedro offers you his protection."

Prince was on WRKS-NY Kiss FM around 9:30am. They spend a good 15 minutes with him. Just to give you an idea why he did not do the interviews with the other outlets, (I listened to Doug Bank from the scheduled time to 9:15am, but no interview) Prince asked, "How late can I be before I am marked absent?"
They talked about learing to play instruments and why is Prince doing interviews now. Prince said of current artists one of his favorites is Alicia Keys and the first song he learned how to play was Batman. Prince said that he is talking more now because he wants to bring attention to the problems with the record industry. When asked why he went with Sony for the new album, Prince answered that Sony came to him. Prince said that the people he is working at Sony are people he knows from the Warner Brother days that always wanted to work with him. Prince said that they are not imposing any restrictions on him and that they are very cool and friendly. That is all I remember. Please do not quote me since I wrote this from memory and my writing could have change the essence of the interview. Additionally, I am rushing since I am at work. Therefore, my apologies for the misspellings and my grammar.

I just finished listening to him on both KKDA/K104 and Tom Joyner's show here in Dallas. Though they never play Prince's music on there unless it's in a mix (e.g. Kiss, Let's Work, nothing more current), it was kind of cool hearing the interview. Funny and cool stuff that was already mentioned here. Gotta get back to ya in a minute after I finish hearing him on Steve Harvey's show. I am MrVictor....

I just finished listening to Power 106 w/ Big Boi & one revelation that Prince said was that he's on the Maker's Diet. Here's their website:
http://www.makersdiet.com/ It's described as a holistic approach to eating, based on Bible refernces & it's not vegetarian.

Damn right, Prince...tell it like it is! It's time to stop all the posing and posturing, non-instrument playing, uninspired noise that's been dominating the airwaves and car stereos for far too long! Real music by real musicians...bring it on.

[This message was edited Mon Apr 19 7:53:55 2004 by CalhounSq] I'd give Steve a break because he is fo' sho' takin care of P. They've been going on about how they got to talk to Prince and how Funky he still is. And they came back from break and played Musicology and now coming out of this next break they are playing what they called, "the next single", Call My Name. He says he'll have the record in hand tomorrow and it's going to be a Prince morning all show tomorrow. Interview was cool because P. and Steve H. have hung together before but i thought one very cool piece was when Steve told Prince how many hip-hop artist they have in the studio that always pay props to Prince for teaching them how to handle their business. That P. taught them how to make sure they owned their records and he asked if P. was aware of that and he said , "yeah, because quite a few have called me and told me that". It was pretty tight to see him get props for all the battles he fought alone.
