Parents just don't understand

As some may know Prince is touring. smile Well, my younger sister and I ( both under 25) bought tickets to go see Prince for a TX show. and my parents go bizerk since they say, "Why would you want to go see that guy? He's got really explicit songs yada yada yada". One of my teachers is a Prince fan and I told her my situation and she said, "Parent's just don't understand" she said the same thing happened to her and her younger siblings when they went to check out his Purple Rain tour. and then she stops to say, "Gosh it's been 20 years already?" eek and im thinking, "yeh....20 loong years..." razz
Did anyone have things like this going on with your parents? about them trying to stop you from listening to his music, going to his concerts, or watching his videos? did your parents try to block Prince out of your life?

I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

The good thing is, you're an adult and old enough to do what you want with having to get your parents permission. If it's that much of an issue for them here's a link that will help them learn a little more about the 'NEW' Prince.

Just tell them to poke around a bit. Who knowns, afterwards, they may even want to go to the concert with you.

Fortunately for me my mom never tried to stop me from listening to Prince. In fact, she paid for most of my Prince tapes growing up. Love ya mom! hug

biggrin hey thanks a lot! but i think my parents are now cool with it. My sister is 17 so they think it might not be good for her to listen to certain lyrics. but..... they got over the lyrics and im already 20 so i think my dad did it to bug me... eek eek eek
my parents never really tried to stop me from listening to Prince. They just thought it was weird that I did. I am in college right now and I started listening to Prince when I was in the 4th grade. wink I don't know how it happened! honest!! My dad asks me "Why do you listen to Prince? That guy used to sing back when I was younger!"
but my older brother is into Pink Floyd so I guess it's cool!
i can't wait for his concert!! it's in August!!! biggrin
