Any track info for songs on Vault? Warners/Prince did a terrible job packaging The Vault. All we are told is the songs were written between 85 and 94. Do any of you have any info on the particular songs? I was familiar with Old Friends (a favorite, in the old version anyway). I'm thinking She Spoke To Me was done for one of Spike's ill-fated films (Girl 6?). Otherwise, I'm lost.
Thanks. JFS | |

The Rest Of My Life - 1992
from the aborted 'I'll Do Anything' soundtrack It's About That Walk - 1993 She Spoke 2 Me - 1991 Full length version. An edited version appeared on the soundtrack to Spike Lee's 1996 film 'Girl 6'. 5 Women - 1995 originally recorded in 1992 and given to Joe Cocker and released on his album 'Night Calls'. This version is actually a re-recorded version from 1995 When The Lights Go Down - 1992 My Little Pill - 1992 from the aborted 'I'll Do Anything' soundtrack There Is Lonely - 1992 from the aborted 'I'll Do Anything' soundtrack Old Friends 4 Sale - 1985 Parade outtake. The lyrics were changed and re-recorded in 1991, but the music is still the same (bar some slight remixing) Sarah - 1996 Extraordinary - 1992 . I love this record. The songs fit together perfectly as a slightly jazzy album. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

were the tracks not otherwise listed as outtakes for a specifc album or project originally intended for inclusion on any particular album? She Spoke 2 Me on Diamonds & Pearls, for example?
when the lights go down would have been interesting in the context of the Symbol album. just curious.
