Manuela Testolini still owns the Toronto mansion that she "bought" in October, 2001, just three months before she tied the knot with her new hubby, the pop star formerly known as Prince Rogers Nelson. You may recall that it's "her" company, Gamillah Holdings Inc., that put a downpayment of $1.375-million on the $5.5-million purchase price of the home at 61 The Bridle Path. While sightings of His Purpleness and bride actually entering or leaving their Toronto pad have been non-existent, it seems they have spent mad time there. If, that is, there's any truth to the coy lyrics in Call My Name, a song from Prince's latest CD, Musicology. Its second verse goes: "But it let me know that my name had never really been spoken b4/B4 the day Eye carried U thru the bridal path door." And yes, that is Toronto's Canada Trust Tower and the TD Centre behind Prince in the photo in the CD booklet. Check out, too, the itsy-bitsy maple leaf that covers the genitalia of Leonardo's famous Vitruvian man illustration, reproduced in the booklet. jadams@globeandmail.ca | |
