Controversy and In This Funky House. These two are of course the unexpected bonus of all the downloadables.
Controversy is astounding. The entire concert is, btw way, but Controversy is nice and tight. And Prince is STILL loose. They way he breaks the band, the way he calls for the horns, the actual horn arrangement. Again, props to Mr Nelson for making want to go see the tour. Smart, these apetizers. And then In This Funky House (good title). It's just GREAT to hear this in soundboard quality. And the anouncement at the end of the song.... does this mean the entire Bataclan show will be rerleased? Or just another jam? Certainly not the part previous to this jam, as it has the crowd scanting; NPG in the MFin house. Prince then breaks the jam, tells the audience (me too) that we need to grow up. This is where In This Funky House starts. I could never share the experience of the joy Prince was radiating that night, but I wish Prince would share the sounds of joy, at least. Again, muchos gracias to Mr Nelson. Respect.

Well, you piqued my curiousity, Gooey, so I went to the NPGMC and bought Controversy. Yes, I did!
Now, it does not sound as good to me as it does when The Revolution plays it on my deee-loverly boots, but this version is alright, too, I guess. Now I'm thinking about trying my hand at downloading The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse as well as In This Funky House which you recommend. But what's those CNOTE tracks that are also available? Explain, please. [This message was edited Sat Apr 3 21:46:49 2004 by scififilmnerd] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

C-note are five instrumentals Prince performed during rehearsals during the ONA tour and they stand for the cities where they were recorden. C stands for Copenhagen, the rest I forgot.
Check the search function; they were discussed until the forums bled.

Prince is playing this song and stretches it apart, unlike the short thang he used to play on the Lovesexy tour. But the synth is just awfully wicked in combination with this NPG. Rad is an absolute prize for the band. I already loved Renato and with Rad there too, it just becomes a thicker sound. And don't you LOOOOVE Rad (and I supose Candy) singing the word Controversy? Finally two good female vocalists in the band. I am not dissing the others, but Rad had the voice that at least is reminisent (damn that spelling) of W&L. The Revolution was THEN. I cherish them bootalisious recordings too, but DAMN! This band is tight. You have not heard D.M.S.R. (damn near ten minutes) live yet. Or I Feel For You. As soon as you have, report back here.
