Seriously, sometimes I wonder why it's so 'wrong' to make judgements of other people, as long as you don't force your own judgements ON other people or allow your personal judgements to infringe on other people's rights. People judge other people all the time, whether they realize it or not or cop to it or not. They do it. It's life.

I think one thing that Prince hasn't changed is that he doesn't like to take shit from celebrities. If someone ever says anything critical about Prince, he always seems to have a comeback for them. Prince's comments about Jersey Girl are probably somehow related to Kevin Smith's negative comments about Prince in his documentary DVD from last year.

I hate it when I have to go to dictionary.com to understand what people are talkin' about But the thing with Janet WAS an accident. Access Hollywood showed the tape after they left the stage and you can tell...they were all surprised.... But my point was that Prince can't start having a self righteous attitude about what is going on with music and young artists. Some could argue that he set the standard and now criticizing those "following" in his footsteps. [This message was edited Sat Apr 17 11:08:46 2004 by Rhondab]

No, that's not the media. That's Prince walking out of a film made by the guy he hoodwinked into taping the Celebration a few years back. You know, a colleague? But, he walks out of the theater because words that he used to use (and may still, for all we know) appear in the film? That's disrespectful. how is that disrespectful? People walk out on movies they dont like EVERY DAY. The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

Possibly but Kev was at the Celebration was there got to meet him so it is a true story and a majority of wht he said on the dvd where infact Facts Kevin knew about the vault, the heels with basketball P's Predilections with Camels in minnesota in januray lmfao Perhaps it was the nordstrom boys department comment that pissed P off

I'm not sure why the original poster paraphrased the story...maybe that's all they had access to and i'm also a little surprised that no one else has also read the story and commented on what was "actually" said.
That said i'm also going to paraphrase and leave it for others to quote verbatim from the article: Prince walked out because the movie sucked. Not because of the cursing. It says how Jersey Girl was actually a more mainstream attempt by Kevin Smith and did not have as much cussing as his previous flicks. The reporter even states how that was no problem for Prince as he can appreciate someone cleaning up their act. But after an hour of a crappy movie Prince just felt it wasn't going to get any better and he left. His quote, "I guess that's what happens when the Potty mouth don't work for you anymore" was meant to say that apparently Kevin Smith can't be as funny without the curse words. I read it once and somewhat quickly...if someone else post it and it reads differently i apologize but i'm pretty sure that the above is much closer to what happened then the judgemental hypocrite he's being exposed as by most of the previous post.

I once dated a JW and he really shunned people who cursed; yet, he said "nigger" all the time [we both are black]. I just found that interesting. This is why I am leery of organized religion and strict religious codes of conduct cuz you can never live up to those standards as a human. What amazed me about this guy is that as a JW he didn't give gifts on holidays, but he accepted them! He didn't celebrate his birthday, but he accepted birthday gifts. It's all hypocritical to me. He feared getting disfellowshipped for being divorced, yet had no problems when it came to premarital sex.
Now, if the story is true and P did walk out due to cursing, then he's a fucking hypocrite. The fact that he's supposed friends with that trick Beyonce who writhes on the floor and who's music is full of sexual innuendo, makes me irked. The fact that he can listen to Janet's album and not flinch would is similar to a mormon walking into a Quentin Tarrantino film expecting "Finding Nemo." It just doesn't make sense. He had to have known what "Jersey Girl" is about. Why go see the movie??? I don't know what's wrong with P. There's nothing wrong with having religious/spiritual beliefs, I just can't stand the hypocrisy....

They just keep on going on about the matter. I suggest we all try picking up EW tommorow and read the article. In addtion, a alcoholic give up drinking and admonishes others for being drunks does that make him or her a hypocrate. People change life moves on. I don't understand what the big deal is.
