Pop superstar PRINCE walked out of a screening of BEN AFFLECK's new movie JERSEY GIRL - because he didn't like the swearing in it.
PRINCE UPSET BY BEN AFFLECK'S SWEARING

The pop superstar - famous for his risque lyrics - hates to hear profanity since becoming a Jehovah's Witness and has dropped the more controversial songs from his current hits tour.

He says, "We walked out (of Jersey Girl) after an hour. Guess that's what happens when the potty mouth don't work for you anymore."

Prince, who once appeared naked on the cover of his LOVESEXY album, is also urging his peers to use the JANET JACKSON breast baring scandal as a mark that such shockers should be a thing of the past.

He adds, "After Janet, we've gone too far. We've pushed the envelope off the table and forgotten there was a table."

Jersey Girl director KEVIN SMITH isn't too concerned with Prince's criticism.

He jokes, "I'm cool with him not liking Jersey Girl. I f**king hated his album CRYSTAL BALL, so now we're even."

Great response by Kevin Smith. Anyone who goes to see a Kevin Smith film should be prepared for the language, even if he's not doing the Jay and Silent Bob schtick anymore. I saw Jersey Girl and enjoyed if for what it was - a mindless romantic comedy with Kevin Smith's unique twist (lots of masturbating dialogue).

I can respect Prince's decision to not watch the film as well. I don't consider it an editorial comment on the film. I'm surprised it took him an hour to get that offended.

I love Prince and all but he needs to get it out of his mind that you dont' control the world. Just because you finally decided to stop cussin doesn't mean the whole world is. Cussin has been going on before he came along and it will keep going on. As far as Janet is concerned and anybody else, these people are not going to stop doing what they are doing until they are either forced to or they are good and ready to stop doing it. Just like he did. When he was doing it he didn't stop. He stopped when he felt like it or when he found his calling. The same thing with Vanity. She stopped after she nearly died. That's great that he has changed for the better, but don't expect the whole world to stop just cuz you did. You're not the creater of the world or cussin'.

Whats the deal with not swearing,wheres the big difference if you do or dont ,I agree theres a time and a place for it and appreciate that some people do find it offensive but by stopping it dosent make the minutest difference.

In the immortal words of Cherita Chen: Chut up, Prince. You need to borrow a stepladder and get the fuck up over yourself. There is nothing worse than that smugly superior attitude about cursing from someone who's famous for the amount of profanity in his past work. If you don't like it anymore, fine. I think he's the most, too, but his attitude is too self righteous He acts like he NEVER cursed. My personal feeling is that Prince is a person who has very self-destructive temptations. I bet this why he would gravitate to the strict discipline of JW. Maybe he needs it, to keep him in line.

Was this at the premier or something? I'm a bit confused ... some reporter or someone asked him what he thought of the movie (... or asked him as he was leaving)? He gave his honest opinion, so be it. This is hardly newsworthy.
