I know this has been dicuss before, but I'm seriously thinking about putting a Prince musical together as a local show. The basic story line is about a musician who puts on a party for his people, then he finds this girl ( a angel) and he fall in love. Since I had musicology I was gonna title it Life O' the party in respect due to the party Prince has gave us over the past years of being in the business. I just been having a few difficulties writing the script , cuz I'm not really sure where I want to go with it.

Basically it's like Prince has so many songs that tell story's, I just wanted to put all those songs together and make one big story. I think a lot of people just might like, rather ur a long time fan or just a occasional fan. So far I've been working on the stroy line, all I can picture inside of my head is people dancing and it's a party. These are the songs I have so far for the first Act

I was thinking how most of the songs where bootlegs and I might just get in trouble for using them in my show, but I think that would be the clooset show though. then I wrote a second script in which I use most of the songs from lovesexy and Sign O' the times.

That would even be a cool show, I just can't think of which direction I want to go in, because there's so much music to share. I'm thinking what I need to do is, find one decade and stick to that decade. Right now If I wasn't so afraid of getting sued by Prince, I would really use the original script I had. Anyways what y'all think I should do ?

Depends on how nasty you want to be. I wouldn't use any bootlegs, (which i'm sure most of us have them) which might bring the Legal thing in.
