RRHOF clips on VH1 - would that be too much? You know how VH1 does a show & they lift clips & play them periodically as videos (D'Angelo - Send It On, Jill Scott - A Long Walk, etc.)... I would love to see one of P's performances from the RRHOF show played as a video clip. Even if it was While My Guitar Gently Weeps it would be cool b/c it was so damn good. I think it would (continue to) reach people who sort of forgot about him & draw even more people to the shows - long live that amazing solo, I say...
But would that be overkill? Should the focus remain on Musicology & the tour instead? Is the reason for not lifting a RRHOF clip already b/c of some restriction w/ the RRHOF not being an original VH1 show/production? Am I putting way too much emphasis on one stinkin video channel?

I'd like to see the clips up to. I don't think it would take away from Musicology. I think it would help attract people to the concerts. I'm firmly planted in denial

That was a cool solo.
But, overall, I thought Sign O' The Times was his best song that night. Wonderful solo, too. And, Rhonda laid it down with authority.

But would that be overkill? No. If anything it gets mainstream listeners and people in general talking about him again. People who generally rely on radio to tell them what's "hot." That solo and his opening performance got a lot of non-Prince fans seeing him in a completely different light. I've read posts on a Tom Petty site where the discussion was mainly about Prince's performance during the ceremony, and one even said he/she used to think Prince was another Michael Jackson but it changed his/her image of him completely. I've read a Led Zeppelin message board where fans were talking about going to see him on tour after that. I hear people in public talking about that performance. For those who stopped following him it reminded many of how much they loved him, and it astounded those who didn't know about his prowess with that almighty axe. This is the type of thing that should make one strike when the iron is hot, and this year would be a good time for that hard-headed Prince to collaborate with WB on remasters/reissues of his first decade of output because of all the renewed interest. His catalog would move even more units if it were sonically updated. It's all about timing. But that's such an issue with him... Should the focus remain on Musicology & the tour instead?
It will be, Cal. It will be. Is the reason for not lifting a RRHOF clip already b/c of some restriction w/ the RRHOF not being an original VH1 show/production?
I'm not sure. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I still know of a lot of people that didn't watch the show when it was broadcast, even w/ all those repeats I'd love for parts of it to live forever, even if it was just on the late night/VH1 Soul tip
