I guess Prince won't have to worry about being picketed while on tour. I'm told that Anthony Fitzgerald, the college kid whose digital camera was STOLEN by Prince's bodyguard, was being encouraged to follow Prince across the country with a sign reading, "Prince stole my camera." Fitzgerald, whose Princely crime was snapping a photo of the aging rocker at the airport, could have been interviewed by countless media. Instead, Fitzgerald has decided to take his claim against Prince to Hennepin County District Court, where a suit has been filed alleging assault and battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The suit was front page news for BBC News World Edition. Why wouldn't Prince simply buy another camera for Anthony, send it with a couple of digital photos of Symbolina, and put this behind him? "That's a really good question. Because he only hires security people who have no training in security?" joked Dan Seman, owner of Avalon Limousine Services. Seman was appalled by the story that Fitzgerald, who was catching a plane to London for New Year's Eve, had his camera snatched by bodyguard "Trevor" when he took a photo of Prince. Seman, who said he was Britney Spears' first bodyguard, has heard some unreasonable stuff in 25 years of handling celebs. "I've had celebrities tell me to tell people to quit looking at them. And I've said, 'I can't do that.' I've had celebrities tell me to go over and snatch cameras, video cameras. Then I have to quickly remind them that we still live in AMERICA!" said Seman. "And that's how it works, so we've never had to snatch a camera." And on the occasion when a little kid asks, "Can I get in a picture with you?" and the celebrity growls "NO," Seman said he has teased, "You're so nice. Big Person.' Yeah, they hire me again. Remember they do everything we do, breathe, eat, ..." Seman said. "These celebrities have got to start using celebrity bodyguards and not goons. These celebrities hire relatives and just idiots to provide them with protection; no training, no tact." Prince's behavior to Fitzgerald was "totally inappropriate, unprofessional. And I'm surprised the kid didn't go up and kick Prince in his shins -- 'course, that would have been in the jaw." That was a joke, too, as Seman's in the business of protecting celebs.

i dont know why fans on this thread are so annoyed at CJ and want to 'do things' to her for writing this - shes probably completely right and just reporting something that really happened. i thought the days of prince acting like an idiot against fans like this were over. he must think its still purple rain days.
