Musicology - why not offer it to everyone?

Why does Prince/NPGMC insist on alienating Mac users with Musicology? The full album is available for download at both walmart.com and buy.com, both WMA based download stores that do not support the mac at all. Yet the iTunes store still only has the single? This is simply costing Prince sales. It's been discussed repeatedly how the NPGMC store does not address the needs of mac users - the moderators there even acknowledge this without doing anything to correct it. I, for one, would have bought the album as a download (and did buy the single as a download) had this situation been addressed. Now I'm getting the CD free tomorrow night so that is one of many download sales that is lost forever.

What point is Prince/NPGMC trying to prove by explicitly excluding the iTunes store when the music is being made available at other stores that more directly compete with NPGMC?

his comments are inconsistant with the album also being at walmart.com and buy.com, in both cases only available in WMA format - thus directly competing with the NMGMC store. I've asked for one of two things

- licensed, but DRM-free, AAC files at NPGMC. Anyone who thinks DRM is providing any real protection is kidding themselves.
- content on the iTunes store, where you reach the users who aren't served by the WMA only store, thus adding incremental sales instead of cutting into sales.

also, I still don't get (and perhaps never will) why so many people who can get the music argue against the people who are having problems getting an option that works.
