Muncie Star Press (Indiana) article about Indy show This is from a small paper in Indiana. Nothing earth shattering here, but folks might be interested.
http://www.thestarpress.c...1-026.html Michelle Kinsey: Prince proves to be worth the wait again Going to a Prince concert is kind of like giving birth (bear with me on this, it will make sense). Prince, who performed in Indianapolis Monday, April 12, at Conseco Fieldhouse, makes his fans wait. I have seen him perform two other times and both times, he made us wait well beyond the start time printed on the ticket. This time was no exception. The scheduled start time (7:30 p.m.) came and went and we waited. And waited. I was getting impatient and threw out the words "ridiculous" and "disrespectful" more than a few times. The lights dimmed at one point, but it was a trick. We waited some more. Finally, more than an hour later, he hit the stage. And all was good. The "pain" and "anxiety" was quickly replaced by booty shaking and sing-alongs. Prince, as he always does, put on a perfect show, proving that he is still one of the best showmen in the biz. He cranked out the old school, he played the new tunes from Musicology. He even busted out some acoustic jams that blew me away (including a mellow Little Red Corvette). He looked great, played some blazing guitar and his voice never sounded better. The wait was well worth it.

I attended the show and was at my seat at about 7:15. When it was 7:30, there was still alot of rows that was empty including mine. It was me and my sister on one end and a couple of people on the other and it seemed like it took forever to fill my row up and the one behind me. But the row in front of me was filling up rapidly. I was hoping he would come out late because I knew what he was trying to do and I would've done it too. He was waiting for more of the rows to fill up. He was waiting on the people who just got off work or who was having a time getting there and it was a smart move. When it got to 8:30, the rows including mine was filled up. He didn't want anyone to miss anything. If he had started on time, they would've missed out and plus it was better than people walkin in while the show was going and I didn't want an almost full row to myself. I wanted the people who was in support of him and paid for their ticket to not miss out. I wanted the venue to be filled just like he did. I heard one person booing, but he was booing to himself. If you was impatient, you could've got something to eat or went to the restroom or something. There was plenty of things to do at Conseco with your time until he came out.
