OMG, being JW has nothing to do with it. He hasn't signed autographs for years, long before Larry and long before becoming JW. The fact is...Prince was expressly advised NOT to sign autographs and NOT to wear the symbol by the elders in his church, including Larry Graham. Prince quit wearing the symbol and he forbade his employees to wear it. This policy continues to this day. That's why you've seen Prince sporting his diamond-encrusted NPG necklaces, but NEVER his symbol, in recent years.
I'm not saying this is a written JW belief. I am saying Prince came to this decision over the course of "careful scriptural studies" with Larry and others in his particular "sect" of the church. I know this firsthand to be a fact. And yes, everyone knows that Prince has never been a big fan of signing autographs, but now he has a larger reason for avoiding them. I asked Michael Stipe for an autograph years ago and he declined. There are many artists who refuse to sign autographs because they decry "self importance." I don't know for sure why P doesn't sign autographs...he even rebuffed Tavis Smiley on HIS show! We simply don't know why, but perhaps there's a good and perfectly reasonable explanation. Maybe not...maybe P is just simply a "prick"! LOL!  | |

the autograph thing always seems silly to me but whatever. i don't see the big deal behind him giving one out but i also don't see the big deal with him saying no. damn, isn't this america? i thought we were free to make some of our own choices.

When he did the Signing back in I believe was it 94 well he wouldn't sign Anything that said Prince. It was Symbol. Then with Lovesexy it was P88 back in Purple Rain times it was LOVE GOD Prince.... He is an Artist. It is What he Feels ya know. I just Know he is Very Tempermental and Moody with stuff like we all are. It's How he is Feeling bout stuff. But he's Really Sweet ya know. He's Really Cool. I wouldn't like him if he was a Meanie. Prince is NOT a MEANIE. I wish he wasn't Such a Gentleman. Excuse me to say this but I wish he would Treat me Unlike a Fan. Why not stop promoting the symbol if it's that big of a deal. Hell, he has baby t-shirts [for the kids!!] with the symbol on it...go see for yourself. Perhaps he just a hypocrite or just hasn't gotten caught yet, who knows. So he doesn't sign autographs? It's not the end of the world and Prince is not God, therefore it's no big deal. As I stated before, there are plenty of public figures who, for whatever reason, chose not to sign autographs. Can't say I blame them... | |

Stupid BS, that's why he signed autographs on the "Love4OneAnother/Jam Of The Year" Tours in 1997, hell, he even signed autographs on the "Ultimate Live Experience" (Club) Tour in 1994/1995... He signed my Tivoli Aftershow ticket and NPS CD in 1998, he may not have signed with "Prince" (signed it with ) but still, don't say stupid shit if you don't know nothing about it...

| From what I understasnd the autograph was really wanted by the mom, who used the daughter in hope that P might ignore his policy. as it turned out also P didnt actually say "no" , it was the 2 goons with him. P didnt learn about the incident till later. He prob wouldnt have sign an autograph, but Ill bet if he had known he wouldve given the lil girl a seat on stage and some parting gifts. Something I saw him do in Detroit when a lilttle girl at the sound check said she had no ticket for the show JAMIEESTARR IS A THIEF! | |
