I always wondered what the heck that was supposed to mean...but I'm sure the quote above was just a joke. So what does it mean? Anybody know? Was it supposed to be Prince's version of "Hallelujah"? And I suppose the next question would be: who the hell is "Frankie"?? (as in: "Serve it up, Frankie!") Zoot If I come back as a woman, I want a body like yours...

Oops...what, was this topic covered recently? If so, my bad...but I don't have time to browse through a slew of threads to see if something's already been discussed. Even using the search engine on the site, you still sometimes have to sift through several pages of stuff that doesn't contain what you're looking for...and I've got books I need to hit. Peace, Zoot If I come back as a woman, I want a body like yours...

Who the hell is Frankie? I asked this question months ago..... I thought it might be an "alter ego" for Sheila..... since on the Black Album.... they say "Serve it up Frankie" on one song, and "serve it up Sheila" on another..... (one is Le Grind, the other is Cindy C...can't remember which uses which name). And then on Lovesexy, they say serve it up Frankie. So I figured, they're cue-ing the drummer.... Sheila. But why call her "Frankie?" Anyway, people replied to my post with all sorts of answers.... like it was Frankie from Frankie goes to hollywood, to some producer or something Prince worked with. But I don't think there was ever a definitive answer.

See my second post on this page. I actually did search for the topic, but came up with about 5,000 posts from three or four years ago, and I wasn't about to comb through them all. So I figured I'd start a new one. I suppose going 10 or 11 more pages through the results would've brought me to last week's discussion, but as I said, I don't have that kinda time. Perhaps if it were easier to search for something on the site...or maybe I'm missing something? Observe the statement "Joined 2/04" under my avatar: I'm new here. Please take that into account. And that's probably why I replied to this one damn post TWICE... Zoot [This message was edited Thu Apr 15 13:59:28 2004 by zootjames] If I come back as a woman, I want a body like yours...

Wasn't "Serve it up, Frankie" a sample? It was on the Black Album which also sports Cat's rap on "Cindy C." taken from "Music Is The Key" by J.M. Silk (a House track) ... It's possible 'Frankie' is referring to Frankie Knuckles from one of his 12" singles back in the day ...
