The April 19th issue of RS had given Prince 4 stars on live concerts and an also 4 stars for Musicology. Gee I thought RS liked to make fun of Prince most of the time, or not mention him at all. I don't know why critics have ragged on Prince for so many years now, but I quess his induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has forced them to drop the sarcasm. He's hot right now, so of course they will go along with the current trend. Rolling Stone is not exactly cutting edge anymore, they like to put all the current MTV stars on the cover these days, so they are just pop culture now. But it did my heart good anyway to see him get some overdue props from them.

Fuck Rolling Stone.

Rolling Stone is jumping on the Prince bandwagon now, because it's "suddenly" cool to like Prince again. To be fair to RS, they have critiqued his works fairly accurately in the past decade (but they compare his works to what's "hot" at the moment, not in an overall sense).

They're just riding the inevitable bandwagon of praise early that Prince's "return" will bring.
