What about when he used to preach in the 80's??? Does it matter who ate of the apple 1st? The end result was negative. "New Power slide...." | |

The only thing he lost is his mind by not singing the songs that made him Prince in the first place. The other thing is he has a nerve to criticized other artist(s). What's up with him with that anyway? He was once doing the same thing. The outfits & the cursing. (The only thing is he has talent.) I guess it was a different then. That's what cracks me up about this whole J.W. thing he acts like he has never sinned. PLEASE! Their is nothing wrong with finding religion but do not try & forget what made you find it in the first place. | |

Because of his new Jehovahs status I wonder if he'll ever play live something like 'Hot Thang' ...'barely 21, hot thang looking for big fun, hot thang whats your fantasy, do you wanna play with me?' , how sexy was that!! Btw ladies do we have any Apollonia lookalikes on these boards, lol ; ) i perfer to remember him the way he was. | |

Excuse me, there is this brand new "Musicology" tour by Prince and he is performing mostly the songs that made him Prince in the 1st place. Maybe you didn't know this. Also, he is not criticizing other "artists" because they are being raunchy, he is criticizing them because they are being unoriginal. "New Power slide...." | |

EvilWhiteMale said: It's definitely had a bad impact on his music because he has to be extra clean now. I really don't appreciate him changing old lyrics around like that, and I really don't like being preached to about his new found cult.
----- On this tour so far no one has said anything about Prince preaching. So what are you talking about. | |

Is FunkMistress gonna have to choke a bitch? That's Wayne Brady's job. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

...So MightBQueen out of curiousity how would you react if Prince came to you door and started to preach about being a Jehovahs Witness?
Maybe its just my odd sense of humour but I can forsee a Saturday Night Live sketch coming up with Prince coming to someones door to talk about the benefits of being a JW and then suddenly breaking into chorus and verse from Alphabet Street and grinding on the floor! LOL [This message was edited Wed Apr 14 12:01:06 2004 by IndyUK] | |

Now that he's 45 it comes a time to tone it down. And like someone just metioned he said it ain't cool when everybody's doin' it. When he said that he's right. You got Britney, Christina, Jessica Simpson, Janet and some hip-hopsters trying to shock and it don't look right. I liked when back in the day when he was one of the very few. | |

LOL [This message was edited Wed Apr 14 12:01:06 2004 by IndyUK] correct - i am suprised the sat nite live thing hasn't happened yet... of course i am in france, and wouldn't see it for quite some time anyway. i'm a JW myself, so for him to come to my door would be one hell of a coincidence. chances are, we'd go to a door together. i could see myself at the meeting for field service: "brother, i'd like to work with prince. mani, maybe you can work with my husband?" haha. i would just want my mother to be there to see that! | |

Replace the word "mystique" with either "edge", "integrity" or "cool points". NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE. | |

i agree with you 100%, mellow1. Prince shouldn't forget where he once was. he was a big pimp sinner back in his days. | |

Haven't any of you ever made big life changes? I'm sure Prince hasn't forgotten who he was. It's all been a part of his evolution.
But please, most artists with lasting careers don't feel like playing the same songs over and over again for 30 years. An artist like Stevie Wonder dropped "You are the sunshine of my life" from his concert repertoire, but does that mean he forgot where he came from, and is ungrateful to his early fans, who were with him from the beginning, who loved "You are the sunshine in my life?" Just a bit of perspective. | |

No.
Because he doesn't need any gimmicks! The man is the best musican ever! Why cloud that with gimmicks no talents have stolen from him from his early self? Anyways he is a better musican NOW then he was when he was supposed to me "Mr. Freak" Why would anyone want to watch any person in music for 25+ years NEVER change their act? Never Grow Affraid to Grow? It would just be phoney & 95% of your fanbase would see right through that you are just a no talent, just looking to cash it in. Is everyone here exactly the way they were when they were 23 years old? God, I hope not | |

C'mon he still got in him its just like he said he's in a different place now. I guess he feels like doing it, he will, if he doesn't then won't. Does it matter??? I'm tired of this topic
And maybe he's savin' it for his woman! (Lucky chick...don't EVAH mess up) I'm glad...cuz the sexiest songs on Musicology to me are What U Want Me 2 Do (basically saying, ooooh, if I wasn't committed it would be ON...and On the Couch...cuz he beggin' like the old school crooners.) | |
