Well, God himself (Eric Clapton) is a big Prince fan. Also, I read somewhere that Steve Vai met Prince and was blown away when he heard Prince's version of one of his tunes.

Well, these debates run and run. Prince is a great guitarist to most musicans ears. However, he is not primarily seen as a 'guitar' artist to most people, mainly because the music is such a montage of other things.
