Aussies: SMS your vote for Musicology on Video Hits It's up against Beyonce in the Smash or Trash segment.

I have a real problem with this
Firstly, I think that no matter how many times u vote on Video Hits, It doesn't affect the outcome of the show. Their SMS and 1900 lines are a great revenue for the network. On the flip side, the music industry pays these guys alot too to play the videos, which is kind of hard in this instance because Beyonce (and now Prince) are both Sony artists, but out of the two Beyonce would make more for Sony because Prince's deal is only a distribution deal. Added to this, What would be Video Hits core audience? Think about it... 12 / 13 year olds? and when did Prince last have a mainstream hit in this country? Right - 12 / 13 years ago So most of these kids have no idea who Prince really is. They were born about the same time as when Prince was really big. All of them could tell you who Beyonce is though. My fear is that if beyonce wins this (either being rigged or by vote) that they will stop playing the Musicology video because their audience has "spoken". The segment is called Smash Or Trash, so it's possible. I think Musicology should be played on it's own and not compared to another video. Kids will like it if it's played to them long enough, and not give them the power to kill it based on the "30 second bite" and on that note.... Start texting like mad guys! Bloody Video Bloody Hits. This will probably ruin some of Prince's chances of being played, as you said Anthony.

They are just looking for an excuse not to play Prince. They know damn well who will get "trashed". | |

I saw video hits at work the other day, saw "when doves Cry" then saw the smash/trash thingo and just went  .... on the other hand, while i think ppl should hear it and i want them to understand it, i personally dont really wanna be seeing all these lil "popstar lovers" putting Prince at the bottom of their wardrobes after they heard it a few times because the new "Britney" is out ...
