I'm surprised - Best Buy knows who PRINCE is? I guess it's just the best buy in my town, but I asked for NEWS one time and they haven't heard of it. The guy I asked said the last CD he heard of was Emancipation.
I hope they have it when It comes time to get it. "3 1 2 1"

I hope they have it when It comes time to get it. Yeah, Best Buy and Media Play didn't get "NEWS" until like a month later while indie stores had it! Also, if Best Buy charges that much, other retails usually follow suit (Cuircit City often charges $9.99 for the really big releases).

Best Buy know full well who Prince is - he struck a deal with them to sell Cystal Ball. Hell, I picked up a copy for $33 in a best buy about a month before my pre-ordered copy arrived (for $50). They might have been a tad pissed at him when it failed to sell due to negligible promotion from NPG Records though. Sounds like someone who isn't too knowledgeable that you had asked. The Best Buy near me has a bunch of copies of TRC. I haven't checked them out too much lately to see if they had NEWS, but they seem to be on top of things as far as Prince recordings go. Must be a preference by store management and their sales figures. Urg...typo edit. [This message was edited Tue Apr 13 12:03:21 2004 by NCC2012] NCC2012... your local Trekkie. =/\=

What is the Canadian equivalent of Best Buy or Circuit City, anyone? It's been ages since I saw a new CD under $12.99 (given there IS a currency difference, but still).

I hope they have it when It comes time to get it. Haha. I got my copy of N.E.W.S from Best Buy.... "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

and circuit city will have it on sale for 9.99 also....hopefully with the release of musicology, people will think of P's other albums and buy those as well. This could boost sales for past albums he has put out in the wrecka stows!!! I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
